It looks like only a little tourist attraction from the road BUT it is a really large cave complex. The guide (Victoria) told us all about the history of the cave, the current knowledge of its formation and geology, and the planned scientific studies to be done by archeologists and geologists. We definitely recommend to visit this cave. Its a little more expensive than the nearby Areni-1 cave but it is more than worth it! A bonus: it’s super cool inside as there is a “natural airconditioning”, especially lovely on hot August days.

Great cave walk with knowledgeable guide. Only opened for a year and cave relics yet to be dated. Excellent fossil specimens, good examples of conglomerate and developing limestone structures. Refreshing change from over developed tourist caves. Just up the Noravank Monastery Road 500 metres from Areni-1. All three attractions worth visiting.

If you like natural caves or are on the way to Noravank, this cave is a must visit. The cave itself is beautiful, several sights in it. It hasn’t been open to tourists for too long yet, nobody else there when I visited. Archaeology has only started there a few years ago, who knows what fantastic things they will find, it’s just a short distance to the more crowded bird’s cave that houses the world’s oldest winery.
